ShowCAST FAQs

  • What devices work with ShowCAST?

ShowCAST is a computer vision agnostic creation/consumption studio that leverages native computer vision libraries that are device specific. This means that if the hardware and native computer vision is available in a browser on a device - ShowCAST will most likely work - we do not officially support Hololens 1&2/Magic Leap/Quest Etc but we do officially support ARkit (iOS) and ARCore (Android).

We strive to focus on devices from the last 4-5 years to be as inclusive as possible in regards to the millions of devices out there.

You can find the current device lists here:

    Android

    iOS

PrintCAST and GeoCAST are built independent of native system requirements using our own computer vision and will work on older iPhone and Android devices as far back as 2013 in some cases.

  • What AR content is supported?

    In ShowCAST you can add:

    • 2D & 3D Text
    • 2D Images (png & jpg)
    • 3D Images (glb & gltF)
    • One 3D animations  (glb & gltf/zip)
    • Sketchfab 3D library models

Due to the limitation of the browsers for web AR interactive scenes, audio and video are not yet supported but as soon as it is, we'll enable these features.  If you require these features please try PrintCAST (marker-based) or GeoCAST (markerless) studios.

  • How to add a web link

At the beginning a property box will appear where you title your cast, select the height of your object you will be uploading and you have the option to add the title of your link, ie. BUY NOW, Contact Us with another field to add a URL.

If you have already started your CAST you can select the clipboard icon on the right to open CAST Properties. This is where you can create your interactive button. Select UPDATE to save your changes.

  • Is ShowCAST relevant or real size placement and can I walk around it?

ShowCAST is real size placement. Plus your object placement will stay persistent to where you place it allowing you to get up close.
